When the GDP growth figures for the United States in respect of the 3rd quarter of 2025 were published, a big issue was made by Republicans about the success of Trump’s economic policies, including his tariff initiatives. This growth rates were 4,3%; far exceeding even the most optimistic forecasts. The counter-response from the Left, and specifically Europe, was that the real state of an economy must be measured not in terms of GDP growth, but in terms of wage growth.

It is very dangerous to say "We don't need the United States"; "if they want to, let them sanction us." Let's look at three examples of countries that have been actively sanctioned by the USA in the post-WW2 history.
