Ek weet derduisende Afrikaners gaan weer vir die Demokratiese Alliansie stem in die komende Plaaslike Regeringsverkiesings. Dit is goed so, werklik, ek kan eintlik nie ʼn jota omgee nie. Ek het tog een vraag, en dit is: Hoekom? Of, anders gestel: Wat gaan die DA vir hulle doen, of vir hulle beteken?

Het u al ooit gehoor van ʼn staatsvorm bekend as ʼn oligargie? Demokrasie, totalitarisme, kommunisme, sosialisme, kapitalisme is bekende begrippe waarmee enige terloopse politieke waarnemer bekend is, maar oligargie is minder algemeen. Die begrip ‘oligargie’ staan egter sentraal tot hierdie Kommentaar, daarom ag ek dit die moeite werd om dit vlugtig te verduidelik en te definieer.

Ouma het deur haar besluite en optrede in reaksie op die haat wat uit die Boereoorlog gespruit het, die toekoms van haar nasate (en die van haar geliefde Afrikanervolk) in haar geliefde Suid-Afrika beduiwel.
